The Herbert Bloodstock agency currently specialise in sourcing New Zealand horses, usually from the South Island. Martin Herbert himself flies over and trials (drives) the horse(s), arranges a vet inspection, haggles over the price, organises transport back to Australia, a true door to door service. Martin Herbert Bloodstock (Australia) take a commission of 10%. Normally a charge of $500 in advance is required to cover the airfare, which is deducted from the commision if the purchase goes ahead.
If I trial more than one horse, I will then advertise the other(s) through this website and sell them to my regular clients. Sometimes I will retain a share in a horse for myself and syndicate the balance to my regular owners.

We are complete bloodstock agents and take you from the selection, inspection stage, right through to the racetrack, complete with racebook and entry tickets.
